PPL's distributed generation (DG) program is bringing the latest energy technology to our clients. Fuel cells, small turbines, microturbines and reciprocating engines are part of a comprehensive approach offering power quality, reliability and environmentally sound solutions. PPL can design, install and maintain all of its DG products.

• Power Quality
  
  Many of our clients cannot afford poor-quality power that causes machines to trip or plays havoc with controls, resulting in lost product and time. DG brings a high-quality power source right where it is needed.

• Reliability
  
  Our clients cannot take risks with their power supply in this just-in-time world. Power outages cost time and money. DG products, such as fuel cells and microturbines, offer the highest reliability with very few moving parts and little maintenance.

• Environmentally Friendly
  
  Fuel cells are highly efficient and create virtually no emissions. Fuel cells are so clean that many states declare them a renewable resource. PPL is developing many renewable-type projects with fuel cells and microturbines using natural gas, methane gas and other clean or renewable fuel sources.
