Activities we sometimes take for granted, like heating and cooling our homes or driving back and forth to work, often rely on fossil fuels, which release harmful emissions into the environment. The Renewables Program provides consumers with a way to help increase the development of new renewable energy sources and reduce our collective reliance on fossil fuels.

The Renewables Program offers residential customers multiple choices. You can choose to support the development of new renewable energy generation projects on a local level, a regional level or a national level. PPL EnergyPlus will purchase local resource RECs by developing or contracting for wind and landfill gas sources in customers’ states if they live in Pennsylvania or New Jersey. Regional resource RECs will support the development of new renewable energy projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
